This is me

29663083_10216716675135917_8394161888196541164_oI am a self-proclaimed geek. A lover of tea/coffee and sitting in coffee shops while writing, reading, and having deep conversations with friends. I consider myself an extreme extrovert and adore meeting new people and learning from their experiences.

In the realm of education, I graduated from the University of Akron with a dual degree in marketing (B.B.A.). The degrees are formally called Integrated Marketing Communications and Marketing Management. I then completed an M.A. in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a degree in Public Relations at Kent State University.

During the time between undergrad and graduate school, I became employed at a nonprofit where I organized and coordinated different fundraising events. Much of my job during that time centered around logistics, engagement, and fundraising. Each day was a different challenge to grow events while utilizing the heart and mission of the organization as the centerpiece for innovation. Currently, I work at the East Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church working with grants in the office of Connectional Ministries while also instructing a Principles of Social Media course at the University of Akron.

On a personal level, which also delivers an aspect of my personal brand, I am a Christian. I am a member of The United Methodist Church and am on a number of committees from the Local Church level, the Conference level, and the Global Church level. The level of understanding church structure has been interesting. I find it fascinating how branding and the church work hand and hand and will have posts and/or series that focus on this area.

This is just a quick overview of me. Much more will be explored as I move with the progression of this blog to discover This Brand of Me.
